Mount Elbert
climbed Mount Elbert a couple weeks ago this picture was from the trail head. We started around 7:45. It was a bit chilly about 40 degrees out. after a beautiful hike through the forest we past the tree line and really got into some amazing views. The critters along the trail are well fed. they ran right to us wanting food. It took us about 3 1/2 hours to reach the summit, the views were incredible and we shared it with a nice group of other hikers. The round trip was just over 6 hours and we made it off the mountain right as the rain came in. We cant wait to get back to climb La Plata

Nice. We did Elbert and Massive on a 4th of Jul weekend back in 03. Very nice hikes/climbs. I remember Elbert had a Marmot up on the summit.
