According to posts on candition.com Hidden Splendor is OK as far as Quandary/Knotted Rope, at least, for high clearance vehicles. If you go, post back!

In wet conditions the Factorty Butte road can turn into 2' of snot. Bruce Newmann and I spent a night stuck on that road. It gets really bad between the butte and Muddy Creek not to mention you have a big dugway to climb/descend in that same section of road. The good news is the roads in the Swell dry out fast. And if you are crossing Muddy Creek do NOT stop.

The Factory Butte Road in "prime" conditions....
We were driving down the nice gravel road doing about 50 mph at night and all of a sudden the bottom dropped out of the road. We slid about 200 feet out into the mud.
Good times. Not!

Just curious since I'll be camping in that area the same time.Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

Was all over the area this weekend...hidden splendor could be done in a 2 wheel drive...the area around red canyon was a little dicey...roads ups high were in good shape...roads around temple mountain were decent...
we were driving a lifted landcruiser for point of reference
