Chobani recall - I purchased some in St. George

Because I know there are some locals on here - FYI.

I've been sick for about a week, I was going to break down and try to make a Dr. appointment today when I caught this in the news. I purchased a bunch of Chobani yogurt recently in town during a sale. I don't recall which store it was. All of my remaining cups are a part of the recall. My sister had a cup over the weekend, and I remember her taking some pepto afterwords so apparently it made her sick too.

Look for the code 16-012, and expiration dates between Sep 11 - Oct 7

I guess I can skip my Dr. appointment and just quit eating my yogurt.

Here is the link from Chobani's website:

The care contact link doesn't work, but if you just type it in your address bar it will take you to a contact page.

I also got sick, but am not 100% sure it was the yogurt. I didn't even suspect the yogurt until the news story. I actually eat a lot of that stuff, in fact 3-4 a day (because it's convenient for breakfast and lunch). All of ours in the fridge (and there was a lot of it) were recalled. We took it back to the store for a refund and they did so.
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

This voluntary recall won't deter me from buying Chobani products in the future. I love their yogurt and am confident that they will do whatever necessary to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I did consume a cup that was bulging and smelled like 90 proof, ok, maybe not quite like 90 proof, but it did have a pronounced alcohol odor and was a little fizzy. Didn't make me sick at all, no buzz either...

That's just nasty. This will certainly be a HUGE blow to their reputation...

"due to reports of product bloating and swelling and some claims of illness."
    AND from the owner:

"While this type of mold is common in the dairy environment, particularly when using only natural ingredients that are absent of artificial preservatives , it's still unacceptable to me and all of our yogurt makers."

Makes sense - it is...a dairy product.....and not just a dairy product as it's a HEAVY yogurt.

Maybe, all yall are just lactose intolerant to some degree when it's not the yogurt's "mold" at all...
