Looking for red man pictograph in Tooele County. I found the ones on Stansbury Island on 8/9/13 can anyone help??

I found the ones on Stansbury Island

There are actually several rock art sites on Stansbury Island. How many did you visit? Your picture is from what I call site #1. Site #2 is a little over a mile north of site #1.

There is a Stanbury site #3 on the west side of the island I hope to add this winter, but first I have to actually find it. I have a route description that was written 20 years ago so as long as roads, fence lines and trails haven't changed much I should be good to go.

I only found the one. going back out next week. So site #2 is north. Is it up higher on the same ridge??

Just keep hiking the road north for about a mile, the rock art is on a small ridge similar to site #1. Site #2 is not as impressive as site #1, mostly because the petroglyphs have not weather as well and there are not as many. The GPS waypoint and a map is included in my route description.

I found the Red Man last week using the info pointed to above, plus about 1.5 hours of combing the hillsides. All the clues were there (use trails, etc.) to find him faster but we were trying to be thorough and didn't pay enough attention. It's hot out though! And when the wind blows over from the manure yard, you'll wish for lake stink.
