Escalante/Boulder area this weekend
I know it's short notice, but I've got an itching to get out and do some canyons.
If I can find anyone else, I was going to do Boulder Creek and one of the technical side slots.
Boulder Creek is a great one for summer and hot weather is not a problem since you are wet the whole time. The water is usually crystal clear and perfect temperature for summer swimming (some swims are mandatory if you do the entire canyon, but you can bypass one long swimming section-at the expense of missing a great slot).
The side slot has a keep pothole, but I'm not sure if it is full or not. The section of the slot with the keeper is optional as there is an alternate route.
I'd like to poke around some of the other side slots as well. It would be a two day trip and the camping area is next to some great swimholes.
If this interest you, let me know.Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.
