New to the site, new to the wilderness

Just stopping in to say hi from Tucson.

I'm new to the site. I'm also pretty new to loving the outdoors. Always had it in me, I think, but only in the past year have I fallen hard for my slice of the Sonoran desert.

I climbed my first 5.6 outside last August and now can't get enough of rock -- hiking, climbing, canyoneering, backpacking in beautiful places...

I've learned to lead (9 max, as yet), and just picked up Rock Climbing Anchors by Craig Luebben. Next stop is Freedom of the Hills. What I really want is to be able to lead (or carry my own weight in) canyons. Safely.

Always game for new outdoorsy partners, especially canyoneering. Must be in it for the wonder and wander, not just for the thrill :D

    Cheers,
    -l
