Rocky Mouth 4th of July
Woke up early (for me) this morning and hit Rocky Mouth with Slot Machine, Mrs. Slot Machine, Absolute Gravity and Nick (he doesn't have a cool Bogley name). Here are the pictures from our trip, Happy 4th of July.
Some asshat spray painted "Stoner Falls" on the rock since my last visit.
We downclimbed the "first" rappel.

Amazing how low the flow is already...gonna dry up fairly soon, methinks. Great TR!

It's still flowing pretty good and you will get completely drenched and have water pounding the top of your helmet. In a couple weeks the flow will decrease and you will only get wet to your knees. I've lived below Rocky Mouth for over 30 years and never seen it dry up completely, but I have seen it down to almost garden hose flow before.

We set off to conquer the Great White Icicle this morning but nature won last night and Little Cottonwood closed down because of landslides. Luckily Rocky Mouth served as a great way to not have to bag the day. Fun way to spend a few hrs. Twas a wee bit muddy on the way up though.
Ice, was that your house with the private driveway and 6 car garage we strolled past? Nice neighborhood!

Loved the TR! Gotta do this one, soon.
Anyone wish they'd wore a wetsuit?

Awesome!! We went up to Rocky Mouth a couple days later, on the sixth.
What crazy weather there was this weekend! When we left the car for the falls, it was 95 and sunny. By the time we reached the arete, the temperature had dropped to 85 and the clouds were threatening rain. A flash of lightening off in the distance encouraged us to retreat and save this awesome looking rap for a future adventure.

Ditto. No wetsuit. We did it back on 29 June when it was smokin' hot out...
Pretty funny...first date, first rappel. I like the toe nail polish...
Amazing to compare 29 June flow this year:
To 26 July 2011 (with full wetsuits):
