    Excelsior June 1st 2013 (Maui)

Time for a short easy canyon, as the g/f is working insanely hard with her job. So why not unwind with something fun? Great way to take a newbie out as well. This canyon usually takes 5-6 hours Car to car. Total of 8 drops. So far one of the deepest and most narrow canyons on Maui. Water levels were a little higher than normal, but made the pools extremely refreshing and clear. Trade winds blowing. Managed to run the canyon shirtless, though with a pair of wetsuit pants.

Played around with the Olympus TG1 camera, just recently got. And also Tom's "Small Silo". I made a "how to" video of it, for "moving water". Hopefully this slow computer can easily edit the video. But anyways.. here's the trip report!

I travel to the islands every winter for a month, at least. I usually go to the Big Island...but now I'm thinking otherwise for my next trip. I had no idea all this stuff was on Maui. I've hiked around Hana, and the big waterfalls there...I presume most of this is in the gullies along the road north of Hana? Anyway, if you ever come out here for an extended trip to the southwest, just bring your harness...I'll show you around some of our "dry" stuff.
