    Heaps 5/10/13

Well the pictures for this trip didn't turn out as good as I hoped, mostly becuase I was having so much fun and forgot to take them, but I stil got a few good ones. So we drove down to Zion thur night and rolled in around 11:30pm and had to go stash the 300' rope at the pools and we get back to camp around 12:45 throw down a tarp and sleep out under the stars. It felt like I'd only been asleep for about 15 min when the alarm goes off at 4am, time to get moving. I was smart and had packed everything before we even left the house, but the rest of the group had to pack that morning so we didn't leave camp till about 5. We drove out to Lava point to start our hike and arrived around 6. It was a beautiful morning and we made it to Phantom Valley about 8:45. The canyon was gorgeous and completely full, not a single pothole escape necessary, perfect conditions for a first time through. It was a little chilly though, I'd guess the water was in the low 40's. Also it was really misty in most parts of the canyon, which didn't really show on the pics.
