What's the record on largest rappel/canyon?
I'm just curious, any records of largest rappels ever accomplished? Or perhaps BIG elevation loss in a short distance. Let's say 1500' or more in less than a half mile?
I'm just curious, and I have thoughts on some projects.

Grand Canyon canyons have big drops in the 500+ft range.
But then again, you could scale down any cliffside and make it 1000+ft easy.

Sorry, meant to say largest "canyon drops".
My goal is to not die... however there are a couple of routes, where a single drop is about 1000ft+/- which have never been touched. However the one we're looking at... is bigger. Expecting at least a 3day excursion.

7plummets.com: a project to descend the biggest waterfall canyons on each continent.
All they completed is one in Norway, Kjeragfossen, where waterfall #5 is around 950m. Unclear if they did it multi-pitch or stopped on ledges enroute and built new anchors. Presumably the latter. At least one stretch of the waterfall was a single 490m rappel.
But the most interesting big canyon rappel is surely the Trou de Fer (Iron Hole) on La R
