Big Bear Lake, CA. Info on hikes and/or canyons
We are heading to Big Bear for a week in June. Curious if anybody has any info for some hiking and/or canyons available in that area. I am going to start doing some internet searching also. Thanks in advance.

There aren't many published canyons in the Big Bear area, but here are a couple sort of nearby:
http://theatsteam.com/adventureworks/vivian-creek.html and http://www.dankat.com/swhikes/vivian.htm
http://www.dankat.com/swhikes/bigfal.htm
I'm interested in the drainage starting 34.2103, -116.9244 but don't really know anything about it.
Another potentially interesting thing in the area is Deep Creek Hot Springs, but it's not a technical canyon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Creek_Hot_Springs and http://www.yelp.com/biz/deep-creek-h...s-apple-valley

A good resource for hiking is Robinson's book - below. As folks mentioned above, I think the closest tech canyon might be Vivian.
