Sagebrush in the rain, and Sand Verbena laced spring desert air, blow by from a 289 Cid along with old vinyl seats, and bacon.

Agree wholeheartedly, JP! Lived in a small town in SoCal that was surrounded by orange groves. Loved coming home from work when they were in bloom. Rolled the windows down and enjoyed the intoxicating aroma! I miss that.

I also love the smell of:

    Campfire smoke
    BBQ
    Pipe tobacco / smoke
    Ocean air
    Fresh cut grass
    Fresh ground coffee beans
    Pine trees in the mountains
    My kids after a bath
My wife's pina-colada scented body lotion

There's nothing like it. I like the nights you can open those windows and let the orange blossom permeate the house. Okay, I need a bloom now

Same with strawberry fields! My extended family farmed and grew acres upon acres of strawberries in SoCal, too. Loved to drive through those areas with the windows rolled down. Another intoxicating scent!

    fresh cut lumber

the smell of plasticizer on a cold morning, steam rising off the mud, the steady shuusshhhh of the pump line with a Schwing metronome in the background.

    yeah... that's the ticket...

A little 110 only makes it better.
Ditto. Reminds me of my childhood, riding my dirt bike in the desert.

Lotta good other scents mentioned, cool thread.

Ha, that invoked some memories. I spent a summer 20 years ago with a paving crew doing compaction testing.

    For me:

    Bacon is way up there
Hoppies No. 9 - yeah, I get that
Burned gun powder - I don't shoot much anymore, but I still like it
Chain lube - for my bike(s)
Everything in the mountains except for those really pungent alpine meadow plants that come out in early summer - bleh!
    Quality leather
    The inside of my tent
Fresh cut hay after a summer storm
    Cottonwood trees along a streambank
The lumber department at the Depot

No one mentions the resin smell of a freshly opened mint in box action figure? I am seriously disappoint.
