About 7:30 this morning after looking at webcams and the weather forecast, we decided to postpone the trip. But my wife was having none of that. If we are getting up at 6:30 and packing everything, we are going.

So the 2 of headed to Zion, with the backup plan of continuing on to Angels Landing.

After hiking up the snow/ice covered trail to the bridge at Lower Refrigerator, we decided it prudent to not go down. It probably would have been ok, it mostly snow on the ground with not much ice. It was starting to snow a little heavier, but the wind blowing up through the canyon kinda sealed the deal. At that point we even bailed on the Angels Landing and headed back to the truck. We passed at least 20 foreign tourist heading up on our way back down, one of the going in heeled knee high boots.

I was up there this afternoon. The trail was clear of snow. It was cool and crisp. I turned around at the bridge because the wind was howling when I rounded that corner. As I returned to the valley, the sun made an appearance. It was certainly a beautiful day today in Zion.
