Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2013 highlights and wrap-up

    Did anybody go?

    --

The Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2013 displayed yet more incredible new gear, technology and innovation for the outdoors to be released in fall 2013. Despite the poor air quality, freezing rain that iced roads over, and less than ideal weather conditions, attendees were running rampant in the Salt Palace for four days to get the latest scoop on what gearheads will need to add to their wish lists. Here are a few highlights of the show.

Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2013 highlights and wrap-up

I was able to go, man that place was huge! I went Saturday morning with by buddy Jeff from Backcountry.com (I was with a different group).

Anyways lots of demos and presentations and samples were given.

Vibram gave the newest model of 5finger shows out for free. But man, their newest model for running is very nice, but obviously ridiculous looking. Lol

I was give a few samples by Etno Corp, which make battery backup systems for mobile devices. They are coming out with a solar panel edition which will be able to charge a iPhone5 in just under an hr for a full charge. That's fast for solar! And it's pretty flexible too. Might have to pick one up later this year.

Arc'Teryx has some cool looking cardigans and windbreakers.

Icebreaker has some really cool sweatshirts and windbreakers as well. Very stylish.

I like the new lineup of Dakine pack packs. Colorful.

BD and Metellious didn't have any new devices just the usual song and dance.

So much to see and try.....

I have never been to the Summer OR but this year I will have a chance too. It surprises me though - Tom should set up Imlay up here. I'm certain many retailers would carry his products.
