Sardinia Italy caving: Elighes Artas
Just back from a trip in which friends took me caving.
Sardinia has thousands of caves in a very small territory most of them are in very traffic area but there is a general knowledge to go in only with caving clubs that are very good in organizing trips and taking people with them, lending their extra equipment and clothing if needed.
caves are routinely mapped and information are easily available.
here is one of them.

I know ,there were also people no gloves, but first with more than 6000 caves discove
I know ,there were also people no gloves, asking they say the more damage will be any way from the breath of people.
perhaps the fact that there are at least 6000 caves mapped and still everyday new found, make people less worry.
that cave was open and with a social trail the only thing stop people was the need of a 10 feet rope.
outside the mapped caves have a little metal plaque to identify them with the government archive.
