Angel Cove
I just had one day, the day after Christmas to get away for a quick trip. It was cold and stormy, a long drive, but well worth it. We wanted to get to try some side canyons by the Dirty Devil, but retreated back to Angel Cove as the roads got too risky to pass.
We found the deer we reported in 2011, alive at the time but stuck. Disappointingly, fish and game didn't save it.
First time we've done a canyon with snow. We descended the south fork, and climbed back out by following the north fork. Climbing is tough on slick rock ice; definitely more challenging, and for sure a bit more dangerous.
Sorry to miss a lot of you this weekend. Have fun, and be careful out there!
