SLC Canyoneer X-mas party 2012 on 22 December.

Heard rumor this was posted over on the canyons...so...thought I'd toss it on here.

Be there or be talked about!

No rumor folk. Canyon Party is on. Jane Arhart has posted it once, twice on the Canyons Group site. Pot luck, bring food, app, drink and a sunny disposition. With Bri, Shane and others there, it will/shall be a most festive eve.

    Address again
    2117 South Belair Dr
    (2915 East)
    Salt Lake City, UT
Sat eve 7 pm Dec 22

Driving Directions: Home is on the SE side of Salt Lake City (not SE side of SL County.)

Get to 2100 South and Foothill Drive (Light). Turn East at this point and climb the hill E. When the road jogs E, SE stay on the road, and once it goes straight east, immediatly turn (left) N onto Belair Drive. Home is 2nd on the Right (east side).

Home is N of I-80, & North of Parleys Canyon junction with I-215 and I-80. If on I-215 going N, proceed N (off of I-215 right onto Foothill Blvd.) If traveling E or W on I-80 take the Foothill Blvd exit and proceed N on Foothill to 2100 South.

If you have a computer, punch the address into mapquest; or onto google maps, or whatever phone/device map app one has.

A canyon party, a time when folk put away tawdry talk of politics (not really); put aside disagreement (some do, some don't); a time when some ladies dress up (some don't), a time when some drink and drink, and lips loosen (some don't, and some really do) and a time when a litany of climbing and canyon lines (stories) spill from lips, embellishment merges with failed or false memory, or that some tales are told semi-dispassionatly and honestly; and for some there is an absence or rebranding - former partner gone, or new partner aboard. Folk that gather, chat, mingle, & "light the night away". Like lightening up airy minds after bottle after bottle is emptied and the last finally, stumble away.

Wow, wow, wow. My head is still spinning. And not from the wine.

What a GREAT party! It was such a treat for us to finally meet everyone. It was impressive to see all the folks that traveled from far and wide to attend. Your enthusiasm for our little hobby is contagious.

To Jane and her family: THANK YOU for hosting! You guys are awesome.

Thanks Arhart's for a great evening.

Theses are not very good photos, just a couple I snapped with my phone.

What a wonderful time at the Arhart's home last night. It was the greatest celebration of the season with old friends and new. What a treat to put some faces with the names from this forum and find renewed belief in the real goodness of all.

Mr and Mrs "Slot Machine", I'm still smiling! Mr and Ms Ice, Auntie Ednas unite in the name of manners and good will to all, eh?

'Hope all of you over here in The Bog have a joy filled holiday and that the New Year brings a junction of my path with yours in one of the canyons or around a camp fire.

    Jenny (aka Pothole Jennae Mae)
