Na Gah Fork of Shinob Canyon and Cassidy Arch

Several friends and I ran down to Capitol Reef on Nov 3 for a quick double header. We went through Na Gah Fork and Cassidy Arch. This was my first canyoneering trip and I'll just say that I *might* be drooling for more of this kind of stuff.

I'll let them give the technical details if they decide they want to since they're much more experienced, but I'm posting some pictures.

    Nice 1st TR! Looks fun!

That white helmet is interesting... is it for construction? Once in a while I catch the edge of my helmet on something and it yanks on my chinstrap. That thin chinstrap might leave a mark...

Great post of some great little mini canyons!

I see there is a porch in your photo from the greater Torrey/Teasdale metro area....do you live there? Or is that a friend's/acquaintance's/hotel porch?

It's my hard hat. And it's my trademark. I've never had a problem with it. I added that chin strap because the helmet had an annoying habit of coming off and floating away when I jump into pools. I find that I usually don't need it. (the chin strap, not the helmet. I always wear the helmet). Also, great pictures, Jill!

It's our friend's grandparent's old house, where they no longer live and it's kind of become their family cabin. It's awesome to have a nice warm house to stay in when we go down to the Capitol Reef area now.

Fun stuff! Nice job. I love Cassidy Arch canyon. Going through the arch/bridge, geology, and then a man made bridge makes it a unique trip.

    Thanks for sharing.

Huh, that's cool. I'd have a scar across my neck from that strap if it were mine. Also, as far as trademarks go, your helmet is much cooler than my trademark cheek-exposing pants.
