If you want to ride let's ride and if you want an attitude well we just need to do some more ridding.
Life is good and life is fare.

First bike I ever owned I paid for doing a paper route.
Bought it for $200 in 76 and there was not an XR that would touch it.
1 down and 4 up was a new concept to the gang I rode with back then.
Mine was a stripped down version as was so popular back in them days with no lights and all speedo stripped off the bikes and it was the 100cc with the same motor as the Chapperal.
Same air cleaner as the Hodaka's. Big , Round and oily as all get out with springs like the 2-t exhausts.

I lived in sandy Utah and my buddies and I would ride clear up to The White Pine trail Head long before anyone knew what White or Red pine lakes where and you could still take your bikes up the White Pine road back then.
I'm sure it was not a legal thing and just something we did as dumb ass kids.
It was the summer between six and seventh grade for me.

Oh baby the days of Castrol mixing oil and real gasoline with lead. Open face helmits and blue jeans and waffle stompers as riding boots with big red shoe strings.

And did not matter if you rode a Bultaco or not you just had to have a t-shirt that did while ridding.

Oh the days of iron on t-shirts graphics lmao.

I bet I broke and re-welded my seat brackets a hundred times and the spokes that I broke were endless. LMAO

Then a buddy got ahold of a 125 Honda Elsinor and our whole planet erupted.
We never dreamed a bike could go so fast LOL

A few years after that I was introduced to the OSSA 250 Phantom.
They leaked like a euro bike did but dang did they open some new doors. (worst dam exhaust pipe ever) It was always in need of some more welding.

Then about 1980 I picked up a Husky WR 390? maybe a CR? with the Chrome badge on the maroon tank and thought I'd died and gone to heaven. It was an older bike but dang.
This bike did nothing but wheel stood ever where it went. Thought it must be the fastest dirt bike in the world until my rich friend let me ride his brand new Suzuki RM 250 and I new I had to have one. Never happened but I did get ahold of a YZ250 with the new mono shock about a year or so after and that is when I had my very first desert race out at Ely ,NV. Going from a twin spring rear to a mono was simply amazing.
All of a sunden it was like don't worry about highsiding it but worry about pushing it to the point of low sides.

Isn't it funny how you remember your first bike- mine was a Taiwanese pos that kicked all my buddies asses on their new xr75s.
With them fancy knobby tires and all the bling.
I remember being so jealous of them pretty hard core looking Hondas and then we rode!

I can remember the look on my fathers face when I asked him if we could go and look at the bike with his pick up.
Shoot we did not even know what tie downs were and just used a spare tire to rest the bike on to get it home.
I had found it in the Deseret news paper and with in a month he bought himself a big heavy 175 orange CB Honda SL ? I think it was.
My dad could never figure out how to ride sand but one of his buddies helped me a ton to learn sand. He says you got to get her out of second gear boys if you want to learn sand. He was riding a Ossa 250 Phantom that I later bought and quickly sold.Way to scarry for me at 14.
If you want to ride let's ride and if you want an attitude well we just need to do some more ridding.

Looks like a good way to carry fuel on that back number plate.

Another big day at the Morocco Rally with sand storms making navigation difficult and yesterday's leader out with engine problems put KTM's Cyril Despres back in the overall lead with 17 minutes advantage. Kuba Przgonski (KTM) won the stage, Cyril 2nd. Looking good.

I know how you guys up north hate to slow down in the winter months.

Single track? How about no track?

This is on the La Verkin single track only good if the weather is dry.
And it is not because of the simple river crossing.

Trust me you'll love this one Dude.

It's not a long one but if you remember the day we headed down to Mesq. but we where thinking about the trails over by Coral Pink Sand dunes that nelsonccc told us about that morning we had breakfast over at IHOP. Anyways that is just a jump up the road after this single track maybe to finish a day???
