Imlay - Sneak Route Sept. 20,2012

This was our first trip down Imlay. We picked up a White Pass and parked at the Grotto for a 5am start. We were trying to time the 6:30 sunrise with the turn off on the West Rim Trail. We stopped briefly at the Boyscout Lookout only to realize that our food was still in the car Jared was kind enough to drop his pack, run back down to the Grotto, pick up the food, and run back up to his pack. Thanks to his fitness, we only had a 50 minute delay! Since my buddy and I were much slower, we continued on and did the route finding. We did not see any cairns or a defined a trail for a while. I could not image trying to find the trail in the dark. We turned up the one slot too early to find out that it closes up at the top. Another delay
