A Fat 'bow on the South Fork of the Snake
A great day on the river. The secret was using old fashioned, wet flies.

Nice Rainbow, I can't believe that you threw back a $500.00 fish I didn't do very well 2 weeks ago floating that same stretch of the river.

We were just discussing that on this trip as we caught 'bows and let them all go. I spend the 80s and 90s having "catch and release" so drilled into my head that the sudden change on the S Fork just hasn't set in with me. For anyone else reading this post he is addressing Idaho F&G having decided to get rid of rainbows in the S Fork as a means to increase the number of Cuts. There are a handful of fish with some implant that can get a cash reward as a means to encourage fisherman to kill the 'bows. (the reference to $500). The 'bows were there during the awesome days of the S Fork, such as 1988, but for some reason; now we hate/blame them and want them dead. ??
Try using Wet flies RF. And by wet flies I don't mean nymphs.
