Bunker Creek a few weeks ago
I actually ran Bunker Creek twice. The first to familiarize myself with it again and the second was a pure Strava run (14th place!). The first time it was sunny and glorious, the second time it was thundering and hailing at the top and freezing. It was fun to see the weather but I was pretty nervous on the ridgeline. Pretty sure I was hauling ass along there. Probably around 35-40 degrees at the top and around 65-70 at the bottom. A huge temperature swing. Trail is a little more chunked up than I remember but fun. I had planned on riding Thunder Mtn but ended up doing too much fishing (see TR) plus it was so easy to have my brother run the shuttles and come out right at camp. I did pedal up the trail a bit from our camp to the end of the road but it's pretty steep. At the end of the second run I got stung on the lip by a bee. The pic is taken a few minutes later at camp. I wish I'd taken it later since the lip got quite a bit bigger. Turns our a bee sting on the lip hurts like hell, plus I almost wrecked swiping it away.
Here are a few pics.beefcake. BEEFCAKE!
