    Mt Midguard and Mt Asgard

Asgard had impressed us with its steep symmetrical sides and glistening rock. So
naturally the next AM we headed toward it....sort of. We started up the peak
nearest it first, scrambling up, then down it's 4th class North and connecting
    ridge.

As we approached Asgard, our confidence ebbed. "My, that looks pretty hard!" we
each thought to ourselves. But when one looks directly on at a route, it always
looks steeper than it is. Thus it was this time too. Nevertheless what we did
find was 6 pitches of 5.7 ridge on delightful and solid rock, with amazing
positions. My favourite route in the basin.

We took the steep snow route off the east side and headed down to the frozen
lake, to scout further routes on mountains named Wolf's Ears and Dak, for later
in the week. Fresh and big bear prints were found. Black or grizzly? Anyone
    tell?

A steep 1,500 foot snow slope past our pals, the goats, led over the pass and
back to camp, a full day in the books and more waiting for the next day.

    Pictures. eh?
