West Face of North Early Winter Spire

After Forbidden, the weather turns bad on the west and wet side of the range.
This is a reoccurring theme on the trip, as the forecast seems better than what
we receive over and over again. We head east, playing hearts, scoping out nice
forest, some frigid swims, looking into Gorge Creek, a canyoneering destination.
The canyon is deadly with snow melt. We will see it 3 weeks later and it will
nearly be doable. Probably is now.

Later that day, we scope a copter dumping water on a small fire above Mazama.
The next day, I leave Aaron to take Ziff up a 5.11 multi pitch climb, while I
rest, happy to give the boy a day at a level higher than I can sustain as his
partner. They have fun. I sleep a lot. Then the weather turns truly awful
everywhere nearby. We consider beyond nearby and come up with a plan that
    excites us. British Columbia beckons!
