Start a fire w/two sticks
This is one of those video's that could go in several sections of this forum, but I put it here becuase I thought it was very impressive and more folks would see it.
Anyhoo.... on our recent trip to do the Darby Ice Cave Price1869 showed us his mad survival skillz by starting a fire with two sticks. It took him about 3 minutes, and the only reason it really took that long was because it had rained earlier and everything was damp and wet.
I had heard of people that could do this but never actually seen it done. I will say I was impressed because many people can't start a fire this quickly with a book of matches and a can of gasoline.

Nicely done.
If you have never tried a bow-drill fire, you don't appreciate how quickly this was done. What material was the fire board and spindle? The fastest I have ever been able to do one was with a Yucca stick and a cottonwood board. And even in the best conditions I was probably double this time to get a good cheery. I will say I make a mean nest.Life is Good

I took a wilderness survival class and learned how to do this. The most important lesson I took away from that class was to make sure I had a good fire starter in my emergency kit so I wouldn't have to.

Impressive. Personally, I carry three different fire starters. Two sticks, priceless.
