Trip Report - Ouray Flash Floods
2:50 PM Saturday July 21 the rain started, heavy for 35-40 minuted, continuing but abated for another 30 minutes. More may come.
Bridal Veil, Sky Rocket, and Portland Creeks rose massively. Portland has 2 feet of water rushing through the flume, at the top of the main waterfall (under the bridge) the water in within a foot of the anchor bolts.
Cascade has a large amount of water, mud and rock coming down the falls but the flume has not risen much, yet.
Oak Creek has risen but not much. Maybe more to come?
Did not check Bear, Angel or Corbet.
Still light rain, thunder, and lots of clouds.

Thanks for the update, Greg. Is this the first big round of Thunderstorms this year in Ouray?

Ouray has had afternoon rain most days for the past two weeks. Skyrocket flashed about 10 days ago.
