Fry Canyon 6/30/12 "dry" conditions
I wasn't able to go with my 2 buddies, Jeff and Ian down to the Black Hole and Fry that weekend due to Mandatory Fridays....ugh...
Anyways, here is a report and video from their adventure:
Quoting Jeff:
"Fry Canyon is down near Lake Powell on the Utah side in the Cedar Mesa area. It is a little further south than Black Hole and you park right at the mouth of the canyon. The canyon runs under highway I-95. It has 1 rappel and it's about 4.16miles with a 1497 ft. elevation gain; and took the two of us almost 4 hours to do.
We happened to do this in "dry" conditions and the sections that had water were cold! I would recommend wearing a wetsuit in normal, wet conditions as there is a lot more water during those times. I wouldn't recommend doing Fry in dry conditions because there is a lot of hiking for a tiny, fun section.
It was pretty cool seeing all of the huge Crypto beds and cliff dwellings in the canyon!"
Enjoy!

GREAT footage. I love this canyon, and found it full of water last year.
Thanks for posting.

Nice Video. Fry Canyon is always a fun one to take people through. It's great when it's full of water and very refreshing on warm days.
