Went through Pine Creek on the 4th. Only one swim, in the Cathedral, and one maybe-swim below the first rappel. Rest of canyon was very dry. Didn't take wetsuits, swim was cold but nothing an extra layer didn't help with.

not that it will help being that you are in the canyons today but keyhole on the 6th was dry dry dry with only thigh deep water. i am 6'3 so the kids might need a swim but it was only that deep in the first drop. I also rescued a gardener snake out of the last 50 yards of the canyon so watch out for falling snakes.

Yeah your right the water was about thigh deep and stinky. The falling snake thing must happen often i saved a 4 footer last time i went thru

No sorry. No, I don't keep track of who can or cannot spell around here. Just thought you might want to refer to the specific snake that you intended to refer to.

    Carry on.

You can't see anything from a car; you've got to get out of the goddamn
contraption and walk, better yet crawl, on hands and knees, over the sandstone
and through the thornbrush and cactus. When traces of blood begin to mark your
trail, you'll see something, maybe. ~Edward Abbey

Blue shirt, big grin, accompanied by a woman with longish gray hair? Saw him taking pix near the small tunnel, then about an hour later popping up from under the Pine Creek bridge (top) and taking off up the canyon overlook trail steps. Looking very happy! You?
