Instal my own wheels or LBS?

I'm buying a set of wheels, used but new to me, and wondering if I should be trying to install them myself. It would require buying appropriate tools and research. I'm not an idiot but I'm no pro bike mechanic. Is this something I can do pretty easily or should just let the local bike shop do to avoid frustration or a bad job by me?

If you are referring to wheels that you are simply swapping out, than all that you need to do is have a chain whip to remove your rear cassette and an allen key to remove a rotor disc if that applies. All of this is easily done as long as everything is compatible. I haven't been that lucky. There are different hub widths, disc adapters, and some bikes use specific dishing on the rear wheel. If you are talking about lacing a wheel, I would leave that up to a reputable shop.

I'm trading out my current set for a pair I bought off a guy up north. My guess is it will need adapters etc to fit and my shop said they'd take care of it for $25 so I'll probably just let them do it. Thanks for the input. :)
