Has anybody been to Rock Canyon lately
We are heading to find Rock Canyon tomorrow and was just curious if anybody had been out there lately and/or if anybody else was interested in going with us?

Super super dry out there. Just a trace of rain yesterday. Expect the roads to have VERY soft, very deep sand. fully capable vehicle probably required. Being able to air-down might be a good idea. Air available at Mt Carmel Jct which is not far away, though clearly carrying a compressor is a better overall plan.

Pick up a big hiking stick while in the barracks and you can machete a path through the section of poison ivy. It makes dealing with the poison ivy simple. That is how the guys that showed me the French exit dealt with the issue.

Let's see, in order to GET poison ivy, you need to get to the oil. The oil is inside the cells. So if you really, really want to GET poison ivy, a good way is to take a big stick and whack the plants real good, THEN walk through them. That what you are suggesting, Ice?
We stayed in the watercourse, pushed past a couple plants with minimal contact. No problem.

Just a few well placed whacks and you don't have to "push by" anything... YMMV
