Your welcome, too bad a good thread was hijacked by ______

I would suggest the "experts" start their own threads in the future.

Somewhat distracting for those who just want to see a TR.

The canyoneering belay and food fight of this thread has now been split off into it's own thread:

Please keep this thread on topic and related to comments regarding the TR and pictures... Thanks.

Kurt, nice set of photographs. I've only been down Spry once, but it is still my favorite canyon. After looking at these pictures, I really want to go again.

    Hi Sarah
I'm sorry I didn't get back with you sooner. It was a fun time having you along and you have a long canyoneering future to look forward to.
Wouldn't hesitate to have you along again.

    Thanks Felicia
Spry is indeed fun. Lots of awkward starts.
My wife likes it more than Mystery, one of her Zion favorites as well.

If you canyoneered with hot sexy women instead of always going with stinky old men you would understand the charm's of the rap-n-swim kiddie...... err..... I mean rap-n-swim girlfriend canyons.

When I think back on past canyon trips--the canyons themselves, no matter the technical difficulty's they harbor, rarely bring back the kinds of memories, that the people on those trips do.

So as much as I enjoy canyons and I truly do, for their uniqueness and beauty that can only be shared by a minute cross section of folks-- But to watch the glimmer in the eyes of a person, upon completion of the first canyoneering challenge---that's priceless. To see a person so enthralled with their first few steps on rappel--thats priceless but I degress

It's also the reason I try to share those moments here, so others can see the smiles and get a feel for the wonder we all have had in these canyons--and maybe, some have lost!.......

Guess we all have our own personal reasons for doing what we do.

I've given up on counting canyons, rating canyons(although I did have some fun claiming new bests)and being involved with the political aspect of canyoneering, that for me, ruined the foundation of why I started into this sport---Fun.

I was asked to take part in the newly formed association, I refused on the basis that I know--once again, it would remove the factor from the sport I insist upon--the ability to enjoy and have fun in canyons while creating bonds and friendships. I do wish them the best.

So, while I know(maybe) that Kip tossed his comment out--tongue in cheek, it does make me wonder about the reasoning and motive's that some have for doing canyons. I think I'm going to keep my reasons simple.

The reasons for canyoneering are very simple and basic to me..... He who has the most fun wins!
