    Timpanooke vs Timpooneke

What's the pronunciation? I've always said Timp-uh-nee-kee but I seem to get dirty looks from natives who seem to insist it's Tim-puh-noo-kee.

While we're at it, creek vs crick?
Just where is it I could find bear, beaver, and other critters worth cash money when skint?

Both pronouciations are considered correct.... that from an english professoer I once had. One version is more popular in the south and the other in the north.

    You're welcome.

    Yeah, agree with Ice.

Creek vs Crick: I say creek and I think the duke boys would say crick.

Same subject: Hooper. Pronounced "Hup-er" by lots of locals? I would have imagined "Hoop-er"? My analogy......I don't often go "shut" "hups" on the court!?
