Boulder Area Beta?
Going to be in Boulder (Utah) next weekend and looking for something to get out of the sun. Someone said something about some Class C canyons? I'd even be happy with a good hiking trail.

tons of stuff around boulder. go east to "the gulch". go west to hells backbone to the boulder mail trail or into phipps canyon, go north up into the mountains and go fishing. just grab a map and have a look. lots of hiking to be had.
I can see your point, but you are still full of shit!
Personally, I wouldn't recommend either The Gulch or Phipps Wash right now. The Gulch will be hot (until you hit the slot which is quite aways down) and the horseflies are usually terrible now (with the possible exception of a few parts of the Escalante River which might come close, The Gulch is one of the worst places for horseflies in the Escalante region-should be peaking right now) and Phipps Wash is hot, open and almost dry. The places mentioned in the other thread are much better this time of year.
If you are just looking for hikes, add Lower and Upper Calf Creek as well. As mentioned, the fishing lakes should be fine too.
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.
+1 on Upper Calf Creek. Car to water/shade is about 10 minutes making this your best choice this time of the year IMO. Then hike 2-3mi to the top of Lower Calf Creek. Cool water and shaded all day. The pools and kettles above Lower Calf are extraordinary and worth an all day swim.

Calf Creek from the top is an awesome hike in a beautiful watercourse shaded for most of the way. Then rap down lower Calf Creek Falls and out to the campground for a nice day. Take plenty of webbing and know how to rig a retrievable anchor to do the falls. It'll feel like a class C by adding that rappel. Oh and stay right of the watercourse (LDC) to make the rap easier.
