    Hi from San Diego, soon to be in Sequoia/Kings Canyon

    Hi all, I'm going to Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP the last week in June. Since I've never been, I'm all ears (or should I say eyes) on pointers, suggestions, etc. We'll be staying in Three Rivers. We want to do some hiking, horseback riding, and see the sites. Thoughts on altitude, weather, bugs, must-see areas, specific recommendations in general about that time of year?

    Havent been to Kings canyon, but just wanted to say welcome to the site. I used to live in San Diego, El Cajon, Santee, La Mesa area. Hope you have a good trip.

    Wild tour at Crystal Cave
    Buck Rock fire lookout
    Redwood Canyon - Heart Tree
    Grant Grove area is less crowded - horse ride from there was very enjoyable.
    No memory of bugs - they don't like me.

    Hummmm - maybe I need to get back there for a visit as it has been some years.

    Thanks DC, yeah I'm an IB native. Not sure if I'll ever leave. Looking forward to getting lots of good info from everyone on this site.
