Free camera for the next one down kolob!!!!

The camera is yours to keep, I just want the pictures... I lost it somewhere between where we camped (a sandy spot on the left hand side about 5 minutes from the end of the water) to about 15 minutes hiking after the wash drys up.

It's a silver waterproof shockproof point and shoot camera that definatly would have survived the fall, and IT'S ALL YOURS... If you do find it though I would like the pictures off it please...

    Happy hunting!!!

I think you will find helmets very helpful in a waterfall-type canyon. I have some on sale.

If you look closely I am wearing a helmet (I'm carrying the orange ropebag), but have not ben able to convert my freinds to the helmet cult yet...

I found bringing a body bag makes a good prop... http://www.usabodybags.com/ to encourage responsible canyoneering.

    Great photo's!

Yeah...helmets...personal choice, but, ran into an old friend who took way less time to recognize me than usual. He'll never work again. Neither will another friend, Tim. Jamey recovered fairly completely, so did another. All had to learn how to speak again. All, not wearing helmets and had they been...their lives would be much, much different today...

Guy fell ten feet. Onto his feet. Broke an ankle. Tipped over, and, his head hit a rock. Done. Lost pretty much everything.

Yeah, been wearing mine. Those Petzl Meteors are so light...its like not wearing anything...

Well I guess I will have to preach a bit more then... And Tom,those body bags might be a nice option for a forced bivy too!! I just wish Canyoneering USA Store stocked them...

Edicts can yield faster results than preaching - a simple version for ya:

"Nobody on my trip w/o a helmet"

It's nonsensical to have all the fancy stuff needed to canyoneer in relative safety, minus a helmet. A helmet is as basic as a harness or rope. Keep canyoneering long enough and you *will* have a near-miss experience with a rock or other hard thing. Keep doing it sans helmet and <insert dire/icky event>.

    From http://www.fishproducts.com/miscpages/dying.html

"Heads do pop off. Families will lose favorite members. Rescue people will be forced to scoop you into vile green vinyl bags."
