Noob question about signing up for a bike race
https://www.bikereg.com/Net/14424
OK, I'm interested in signing up for the race at the site linked above. But I'm not a racer, don't have a license/permit/whatever. So is my only option to register and compete in the "Noncompetitive/Tourist" category? Meaning I couldn't possibly place in one of the other categories, for example, "Masters 45+"? (BTW, what the heck is the "Clydesdale" category?)
Of course, the chances of me finishing ahead of anybody else in this event are slim...I'd be happy to finish at all!

Clydesdale category used to be racers that weighed over 200 lbs. I don't know if that is still the case today.

Hi Candace, I am no expert on this stuff but I did follow the link to the actual race site. They have all the registration forms there. I did notice where you can buy a one day license and then get timed against the racers. So that may be another option for you to consider.
I finally broke down this year and got licensed, only cost $60. Still have to figure out what to do now and am looking for some longer races to knock out this year.
Maybe talk to the folks at the bike shop about how the whole licensing thing works while there to get your fit. I plan on hitting up the guys at The Bike Shoppe in Ogden next time I go in for some info myself. Those guys are always helpful to me.Exercise is the elixir of life!
