    Yankee Doodle in May

I work for an online high school that invites its students to get together in person a couple times a year for a week of camping, climbing, rappelling, etc. Last week, the faculty got to take off for a few hours and do a trip through Yankee Doodle in Southern Utah. Beautiful day, absolutely delightful trip.

James, our headmaster, was the first one down the first rap (150ft?).

Angie's first rappelling trip, on her 48th birthday. She said it was the best birthday present ever.

This was the first canyoneering trip for several members of our party. They were real troopers and had a great time.

First time I went through YD a couple years ago it was dry. There was water in several places this time, but I still made it through with dry boots.

    Good times. More pics here.

Nice TR! Bonus points for the dry boots... based on the last photo, you MUST be able to walk on water.

Or maybe you just took your boots off.

Good point Bob - if you look in that last photo there are large rocks just below the surface that someone placed there. So I guess the soles of my boots got wet, but other than that I came through dry. Great stemming practice throughout!

Nice TR! I see you also did the one big rap instead of the 2 little raps if you drop in early. Bonus points for sure! That's a nice free hang and good for noobs to get their feet wet. Speaking of wet, glad you didn't bring drysuits for this.
Your safety is not my responsibility.

I like your footwear: one running shoe and one sandal. It reminds me of a trip down Zion's Narrows years ago. I lost the sole of my cheap hiking boot and finished with one Chaco and one HiTech boot.
