Quick Trip to the North Wash

I chose the West Fork of Blarney for her first canyon and she loved it. She has rappelled before but not into a canyon so the first rappel took a little convincing. I set up a top belay for her since we were the only two there and after she took the first step she was hooked. She was amazed she had the strength to do the rabbit hole down climb/stemming section.

Sweet. Did you go down for just the day or did you spend the night?

Good for you two--looks like some quality Father/Daughter time.

How did you rig the top belay?

Yes we went down for the day. We left at 3:30am and we were back in West Jordan by 6:30pm.

I anchored myself at the top and tied another rope to her harness with a figure eight knot and then ran that rope through my atc guide and fed the rope as she started down.

Nice photos. What day were you actually there? From radar, looked like there might have been some rain action close by either Tuesday or Wed.?

Great TR, love the photos. Thanks for the assessment on taking along noobs. I've got family I want to introduce to canyoneering and I'm always looking for canyons that would be appropriate for them. Thanks!
