Out and About for a Few Days - Capitol Reef & Escalante
I took a few days off work and we headed up to Capitol Reef and Escalante. We drove up past Otter Creek and around Fishlake on the way to Capitol Reef, what a beautiful area.
When we got to Capitol Reef we did a hike from the hiway into Grand Wash, truthfully, not that exciting.
The next day I finally got to drive Cathedral Valley, weathered out on three previous attempts. Everyone should figure a way to do this, it's a remote, beautiful drive.

The next daty was a travel day to Escalante, going down the Notom-Bullfrog road with a quick hike into Headquarter Canyon. There was a quite a crowd at Burro Wash that morning, I'll need to do that in Sept/Oct. Some pictures:

Took a short hike into Headquarter, didn't go too far past the first slot but it was definitely worth stopping:

Next day we did the 2 mile hike in Escalante Canyon up to the Granaries. The green of the foliage mixed with sandstone walls made it a beautiful hike.

After this hike we took a drive out Spencer Flat, what views! Didn't even take a picture just enjoyed the scenery.Quoting my best friend, Bob McNally, after a bad boating trip: "Nature scares me!"
