    Death Hollow May 2012

    Left Salt Lake City on Wed. May 2 around 4 pm stopped in Nephi for some food at the Burger King. We arrived at the highway 12 Escalante river bridge at 9:00 pm. We met our shuttle guy Sean who by the way was really cool, so if you you need a shuttle give him a call at 435-826-4652. We shuttled up to the Boulder Airport and started hiking around 10:00pm we hike to sand creek and set up camp there. Then next day we hiked down into death hollow poision ivy was all over the place, but we were able to avoid it with out incident. We hiked down the canyon and spent most the day fishing the deep pools with good success. We camped the second night just below Mamie creek, then woke up and hiked out of Death Hollow and camped along the Escalante, then woke up and hike out to the highway 12 bridge. It was a great trip with amazing views. We only saw a hand full of people the whole time.

    Haven't been down Death Hollow since I was a teenager and had forgotten how beautiful it was.
