    White Roost/ Cut Rope

I descended White Roost canyon last Thursday in Robber's Roost. It is in excellent condition right now and was totally dry. The final rap that usually has a pool at the bottom was virtually non-existent. Unfortunately at the third rap I had some difficulty with the rope. I am not sure what happened but I assume I had a loop form as I was pulling the rope. Long story short, I had to stem back up the rap as far as possible and then cut the rope as high up as a could. The result is 10-15 feet of rope dangling from the webbing. This is embarrassing but could also be dangerous. If you descend the canyon and find white/red canyoneering rope in place here IT DOES NOT GO TO THE BOTTOM! DO NOT RAP OFF OF IT. Please remove this section of rope and put it to a good use. Sorry to litter!! Great canyon right now, should be in good shape til it rains.

Thanks Reverso ---- and sorry about your loss.

Also, a good reminder that, if you find a rope hanging out in the Wilderness, it is often a bad idea to rappel down it or climb up it. You just don't know. You don't know whether it reaches the bottom (ok, unless you can see it) and you don't know if it is anchored well (from the bottom).

Descended the canyon on Saturday and your rope was gone. No where to be found...
