Local Backpack Hike in SLC
Looknig for a trail to go backpacking over night in the SLC area (not down south). As I understand, things below 7500 feet should be snow free. Just to be more interesting... I'd rather not do a uber popular trail like Dog Lake. But looking for someplace with a lake or stream for water. Perhaps something in Alpine... as I've never been hiking there before (done most of the trails in BCC abd LCC but not ruling that area out).
Will be my first trip this season so I'd not mind something even just a couple of miles in.

I love the red pine/white pine lake area (up LLC) . Backpack as far as you wanna go and camp. Plenty of streams and a partially-frozen lake(s) to see. You will encounter snow on any north-facing mountains to keep in mind (which this hike is).
