    Cool idea Steve.
With sandtraps we are overcoming weight(rappeling) with weight and friction.
Makes me wonder if these 2 traps where in line(one behind the other) vs. stacked on top of each other, if the benefits would be greater.(more surface area-same weight)
Bottom line, of course is the last person down, who your wife represents well, has a successful rappel.
Is all this needed, I have no clue. I only see another potential use and tool.
Well done Steve and Maria, in a controlled environment.

I set this up to show that a long rap on Sandtraps is entirely do-able. The only reason for the "Sandwich" is to make the pull easier....all the sand needed but only half the pull on retrieval. And Maria and I have done many canyons together like this, just the two of us. We just want to show the rest of the community what is possible with the Sandtrap. Of course the backup is essential to test. In this instance we actually had too much sand......be safe out there!

Cool video and product! I will likely buy a SandTrap soon.

Side note, that sucks if you had to haul a 300 foot rope up and out of E2.

Might be....have never tried that configuration. but methinks that one on top of the other is better. More weight on less surface area.
