Around 10 years in jail seems fair. But then again I would like gobbledygook stuff like full evidence before a person decides their fate. Right now its just what the police have submitted to the media.
But I am someone who believes that criminal sentencing should have both a punitive and recuperative element to its goals.

Isn't there 'attempted murder" in the Utah laws? It appears the police had enough to ask for a search warrant for their cars and homes to have them face serious charges.

I can't imagine someone thinking that this is alright and acceptable. These two boys need to go away for a long time. Even though someone didn't get hurt which I am very grateful for I think they should get a maximum sentence for this act. They need to get a good Provo defense attorney to help them with their case. They need all the help they can get to get out of this mess.

Conspiracy to commit murder at the least. Those type traps are for creating death or serious physical injury. In any event, this should not be taken lightly, a slap on the hand won't deter jackass's like this.
