looking for someone to show me/us the Fiery Furnace technical routes

3 of us (possibly 4) will be in the Moab area and were wondering if there is someone available to show us the technical routes in the Fiery Furnace area of Arches on 4/30, 5/1, or 5/2.

The climb-utah.com site said this is the best place to find a partner to show you the "secret" routes.

Looks like you might need to sweeten the deal, rvv. You coming from Colorado? Some uh that Abbey Ale might get someone interested...

Yes, we're coming from Colorado. But, not being an ale drinker, I'm not sure what Abbey Ale is, but we'd definitely be willing to bring it or some other ale in exchange for the adventure.

I may be down for the car show which is the weekend of the 28th and 29th. Have no definite plans yet but if we go we could probably hook up and make a loop thru the furnace.

    Mark,

    That would be awesome!

Just to be clear, if you do come down for the car show, you might stay an extra day to do the furnace on Monday the 30th?

FWIW: "Sensitive" is probably a better word than "secret", as I don't consider the FF routes secret. I consider the routes problematic with regards to visitor impact and the National Park Service continuing to allow unescorted access.

The term secret route has some bad bad ju-ju attached to it when it comes to canyoneering so I don't like the word in this case.... or maybe you just consider it all semantics and don't really care.... anyhoo... good luck in your endevor...

I also consider the routes extremely difficult to describe. Another good reason to have them in the "show not tell" category.

I thought your dates were on the weekend, looks like you are heading there on Monday. If we go which is still in limbo we would be leaving Sunday. Sorry maybe next time.

Fiery Furnace Technical Routes and Self-guided Tour?

Hi, in searching for a guide to tour the Fiery Furnace, we came across this thread. We'll be visiting the Arches tomorrow- May 26th to 29th. Is anyone willing to show a few of us the routes through the Fiery Furnace? The ranger guided trips are all booked up.
Also, is there a limit on self-guided permits? Thanks!

Yes there is a limit on self guided tours. I think its 50 a day.

Hey a friend and I are wanting to do the technical routes for Fiery Furnace. Who will show us the way? We have done many other canyons. We will provide drinks or cash :)
