Roadoglyphs - A New Art Form?

While eating breakfast in Springdale a fellow we know asked if we'd seen the Lizard and Man on the road between Virgin and Rockville. We hadn't but he gave us some Beta. These are on Rt 9 in the vicinity of Zion notice boards. Just West of the boards is a curve with a guard rail and the man and Kokopeilli are in that area.

Good to see that someone on the road crew is artistic with a sense of humor.

Hwy 29 in Straight Canyon (east of Joe's Valley Res) has a pentagram.

I like the glyph work though. Good stuff!

How's the approach getting to these panels?! Is it a technical drive? Might exposing these Roadoglyphs create impact and indanger with possible closure of the area?

The technical part is dodging oncoming traffic while photographing. There is talk of the BLM making this an "Archeological Study Area", cutting off access to Zion until a new road is constructed.

Haha, these are great. I like the lizard and especially the kokopelli. Here are some shots of the ones that LOAH and Iceaxe mentioned:
