Wildcat Trailhead (Subway) closed from April 19 - ?

The NPS says that the Wildcat Trailhead will be closed on 4/19 due to a prescribed burn in the area. They don't say when it will reopen - but I imagine it will take at LEAST 2 weeks (having previous BLM firefighter experience in St. George) to have it at "100% contained" and having it reopened.

They did NOT mention if you can park somewhere else and still do the subway. Hopefully they will post more information on this soon.

It was closed last time they did this. I actually got lucky because they ended up doing the burn a day later (than scheduled) due to winds or something, so I walked up at 9 and got permits for the same day. *shocked*

Wasn't the last prescribed back in 2002/2003 for this area?

No I think it was year before last? Let me see if google has the info.

Geeze! I'm slacking, asked another guy who went with me and he said it was 2008 or 2007! You know you're getting old when you miss trips by a couple years hehe. Can't find any info on google, but it was like 4 or 5 years ago I guess. *shrug*
