    camping around Hite? doable?

I want to spend a few nights down on the shores of Powell. Are there some good spots where the DD River meets the Colorado (beginning of powell)? I remember thinking there were some spots off of 95 there that one could camp at...Just not sure...Want to car camp and make some leisurely paddles around:) Thanks

You can definitely put-in at multiple places in the Hite area.

There are several old designation camping spots along the HWY, I am just not sure of their legality anymore. Most aren't very close to the water though. You could use the "old" whitewater ramp area that was used when the Hite ramp was abandoned due to low lake levels. You could likely find a camp there if you aren't too picky.

Nice thing about the area.....ton of old driftwood from the high water years for campfires.
