This will be our 2nd year getting tags. Most expensive turkey we never got last year...

$75 a plate just to increase your draw odds?
I'll grow my own thank you.

My first tag that I finally was able to draw for Utah was in 2005. It took 5 years. On the 5th day of hard hunting I shot one. I refer to it as my 1000.00 turkey, which was actually less that what it really cost me. I had the turkey perserved in a full body mount thinking that I never get lucky enough to get another turkey. Since then I have shot another 9 turkeys mostly out of state. Last year I guided for a friend in southern Utah and he got 7 shots with his bow at gobblers in one day before he was successful. I told him that was a miracle to have had that many oppertunities in one day.

Well, I'm sure hopeful we can bag one this year -- more-so my 13 year old than I. So far, its a great father:son experience, albeit a bit expensive.
