Cherry Canyon
Went down cherry canyon in the virgin river gorge the other day. Crossing the river to get there was no problem, about calf deep. Lots of raps, a fairly short approach, decent canyon for a change of scenery.

The canyoneering shots were awesome, but I loved that fossil shot--very cool, thanks.

Another interesting & dramatic one. That shot with the fossil, is that in limestone of some kind there?

Yeah, and bolts work even better!
Ha ha...
Does smell like the ocean when you drill into the rock, or, bust/trundle. Strong smell. Fair amount of fossils down that way. The rock tends to be pretty hard, which, is also why that limestone belt, which goes from Sun City, the Grail, the VRG and all the way up through the Utah Hills has a huge amount of sport climbing routes...

Is this a safe canyon to bring newbies who have never done a canyon before?

Looks like a sweet canyon.
Is it the drainage west of the GPS coordinate? What's the longest rappel length? (Fishing for some beta since I can't find any.)

Ginger you can find some beta for Cherry Canyon here.
I am interested to know if this is a good canyon to take new people who haven't done a canyon before.
